1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can remember something about you between visits or between pages. Jammat uses only a small, essential set — no advertising or tracking cookies.

2. The cookies Jammat sets

Cookie Purpose Expires
sessionid Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. When you log out, or after a period of inactivity.
csrftoken Security cookie that protects forms (login, sign-up, applications) from being submitted by another site on your behalf. About one year.
django_language Remembers whether you last chose English or Arabic. About one year.

All three are "essential" cookies — the site doesn't function properly without them (for example, you'd be logged out on every page). Because they're essential, we don't show a cookie-consent banner asking you to opt in to them; you can still block or delete cookies yourself from your browser settings, though the site won't work correctly if you do.

3. Third-party resources loaded on this site

A few pieces of the site are loaded directly from other companies' servers rather than our own, which means your browser makes a request to them when you visit:

  • Google Fonts — the typefaces used across the site are loaded from Google's font servers. Google does not use this to set advertising cookies, but your browser's request (including your IP address) is visible to Google the same way it would be for any web request. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Tailwind CSS — the site's visual styling is loaded from Tailwind Labs' CDN. This only delivers styling code to your browser; it doesn't set cookies or collect personal information.
  • Unsplash — the homepage's background photo is loaded from Unsplash's image servers, under their free license. This only delivers the image file; it doesn't set cookies.

None of these set their own tracking cookie on this site as of this writing, and we don't use any advertising, analytics, or social-media tracking scripts (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, etc.).

4. Managing cookies

Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies from their settings. Since Jammat's cookies are all essential to signing in and using the site, clearing or blocking them will sign you out and may prevent parts of the site from working.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the cookies or third-party resources the site uses change. We'll change the "last updated" date above when we do.
